Tropical Baby Shower

Life has been moving in a speed of light and I seem to have lost track of time. It’s been way over-due but I am finally getting the chance to post this beautiful Tropical themed baby shower designed by my talented friend, Catherine from CCL Weddings.

James and I absolutely love Hawaii. We travel to Oahu atleast once a year to get away from our busy schedules. We hope that someday we would be able to purchase a property in Ko Olina and escape from this busy life we have here in LA. Therefore, a tropical themed baby shower including all of our favorite Oahu eats was a must!

Leonard’s is my favorite dessert spot in Oahu. As soon as we land I sometimes make James drive us to Leonards to get a nice warm batch of masaladas before checking into our hotel. I was able to find a vendor in Monterey Park that made similar masaladas called Dot and Dough.

James is always emphasizing on having good food at our parties and lots of it. So, we had different vendors provide services so that our guests will have variety to chose from. Kon Tiki Taco served LA style street tacos with an option to add an island twist like coconut shrimp, kalua pork and grilled pineapples. A personal sushi chef served made to order nigiri, cut rolls and hand rolls. It was definitely torture as I was pregnant and couldn’t have anything other than avocado cucumber hand rolls or california rolls.

For dessert we had my favorite Oahu inspired acai bowl station from AMAZE Bowls and Carmela ice cream cart.

Aside from good eats, we wanted to make sure there were activities for both kids and adults. We had Mesh Kids Co. set up a ball pit to entertain the young guests while the adults can enjoy drinks and hang out. Since it was a baby shower we thought having stations with baby shower games was ideal. We had a onesie design station, which James and I couldn’t be more impressed by our artistic friends! There were so many awesome designs it was truly hard to pick our favorite. And, a wooden block building station. We can tell we are in the industry of creatives as everyone put so much thought and details into each piece. It looked as if I purchased them from a shop!

James and I can’t thank our family and friends enough who have showered us with their love in welcoming our first baby. We feel extremely blessed to have them in our lives. We are currently new parents enjoying every moment with our beautiful son, Tyson Young. I will share in another post introducing our new member to the Young family.

XOXO, JANET
