Easter is the perfect time to welcome Spring. Warm weather, new life, and, of course, fresh, pretty flowers! Last year, I hosted a lavender themed high-tea to celebrate. It was a gorgeous day! For this year’s luncheon, I knew I had to follow-up last year’s successful event with another beautiful day for my friends and family. I wanted to do something equally as beautiful, but different. I decided to plan for a simpler, more modern occasion with soft, springlike touches.
As always, I started my planning with the floral arrangements. My friends at Holly Flora created the loveliest arrangements of lilacs in vintage crystal glasses. To add an even further touch of whimsy, we created an interwoven garland of jasmine and loose garden roses and positioned it into a stunning cascade down the table. Each place setting also included a dark purple flower to contrast the centerpiece arrangement and add a further personal touch.
For the tabletop, I went to two of my favorite companies: Crate and Barrel and Sur La Table. I love the lines available at these stores! In fact, all of my everyday china and glassware is either from Crate and Barrel or Sur La Table. These dishes in particular are the Classic Beaded French collection from Sur La Table. The glassware is from Crate and Barrel. I also love my copper colored modern flatware — I always get so many compliments on it and it is super eye catching with all tablescapes, but especially so with this one (though I may be a bit biased!).
Haute Chefs are my go-to caterers when planning my Easter luncheons. I used them last year for my lavender themed high-tea, so I knew I wanted to collaborate with them again. They did an amazing job last year creating the menu (think: open faced sandwiches, deviled eggs) that was perfectly on theme, so I knew they’d be great this year again, too. And I was right! Chef Jeff Nimer created the most beautiful, savory, and delicious meal for us. Doesn’t it look scrumptious?
To drink, I knew I had to create a mimosa. What else goes better with brunch?! I mixed up some peach mimosas for us to sip on and garnished them with fresh thyme for a lovely sweet, earthy aroma that filled the whole room. I’ll be posting my recipe soon for this tasty beverage!
